Our guesthouse for women
can be found in the holiday resort of Miami Playa, situated in the heart
of Catalonia, 120kms south of Barcelona and 30kms south of Tarragona.
The town nestles at the foot of Sierre Esteve, an alpine-like mountain
range, but is only 600m from the beach. Hence the name Mont y Mar
(mountain and sea).
Miami Playa is well known for it’s beautiful beaches and sheltered
bathing bays which, as they stretch for over 12kms, do not become overcrowded,
even at the height of the summer season. Many of these beaches fly
the European Union Blue Flag, denoting good facilities and clean, clear
water.
As well as swimming, surfing and sailing you have the possibility to go
on long beach treks to the harbour of Hospitalet, to the weekly market
or to the nude beach. (This beach can also be reached by car.)
There is a riding school and well-maintained ash tennis courts surrounded
by lush, green vegetation.
Cars and bicycles can be rented in Miami Playa.
If you love solitude and unspoilt natural surroundings, the nearby mountains
are an open invitation to go trekking and offer stunning views of the
surrounding countryside and sea.
From Miami Playa you can take advantage of a variety of trips,
some nearby, others further away: to the fishing harbour of
Cambrils and Ametlla, Jugendstilpark Samá, Escornalbou Castle, Ebro-Delta
Nature Reserve, the old Roman town of Tarragona, the monastery of Montserrat,
into the isolated mountain world with typical Catalonian villages, castles
and monasteries, even to Barcelona.
We have gathered a wealth of information about the area, which we would
be more than happy to share with you. Unfortunately, some of the
towns are off the beaten track and cannot be reached by public transport.
